OBS Abia now live On 89.4 FM

The Orientation Broadcasting Service (OBS) tagged "the station born to Excel", can now be received life on 89.4 FM band. This is courtesy of the technical ingenuity of a Batch "A" 2008 Corps member, Mr Babaalaaya Rashid, (AB/08A/0342).

OBS Rashid who himself was a member of the OBS during his time as well as the technical Executive of the Publicity CDS group said he was inspired to design the FM transmitter as an OBS engineer.

Receiving the transmitter unit after a test run of the gadgets, the State Coordinator expressed hope that the transmitter will go a long way to enhance information dissemination on camp.

In a related development, corps member Adeosun Olusegun has donated a pair of big box speakers and a mixer amplifier. Donating these items at the NYSC Secretariat, the donor Mr Adeosun said he was motivated by the PRO Mrs Ngozi Ukwuoma to embark upon the project, coupled with the experience he had as the studio manager in his days in camp. He expressed the hope that the incoming OBS members of the 2009 Batch 'A' will function with a lot of ease.

Receiving the items, the State Coordinator Mr Ufok Etukudo who lacked words to express his appreciation, thanked corps members for their foresight and prayed God to bless their future endeavours.

Meanwhile, Corps members during the just concluded Batch "A" 2009 orientation received OBS broadcast life via their radio receivers, phones and other audio fm receiving gadgets, when they tuned to OBS 89.4 FM, the station born to excel.
